Monthly Faye Card - September 2020

Gargoyles – Silence, Guarded
Suppressed feelings that need to surface and be felt. Let your guard down and open your heart. Thinking versus feeling, let go of limitations and surrender.

Happy Fall Equinox! In this month of nine we have a shadow card. Shadow cards ask us to be aware of parts of ourselves that we may not acknowledge. Think of it like a workout... You might love working out your favourite strong body part but you dread working out your weakest and least favourite body part. However, the only way for it to strengthen is to give it the attention it needs. The same goes for our feelings. Nine can represent completion and we have the release that accompanies Autumn. Spirit asks: Are you ready to end a source of your suffering? By doing the opposite of the keywords on this card you have the power to do so. Are you silencing yourself or lying to yourself in some way? Be open, honest, and expressive. Are you holding back and hiding in any way? Be vulnerable and accessible. Some people see gargoyles as scary and dark, others see them as protective guardians. This month you are reminded that you are being spiritually protected and particularly guarded from less than your best. Last month afforded you some power and this month allows you to flip the script.  

Responsibility is a strong component of nine energy, and in this dynamic month you will need to accept and embrace your responsibilities. Don't run and hide, or long for what was, or what you wish would be, but stand in the reality of what is. This is the only way to break free and into the potential of all that can be. Timing is a big element you'll be asked to let go of this month. Release your attachment to time frames, for Spirit shows me there are a lot of prayers being answered, but because of expectations of time people are misperceiving things. Don't quit right before the miracle occurs. Fall equinox is the perfect reminder that everything has a season, a natural process that can't be rushed or forced. Don't wait for things to be over but rather surrender more fully into the now, honoring the present moment. Any patterns of waiting and beliefs of "I'll be happy when" will come up to be shifted this month.

You are being challenged to find the magic in the mystery. I'm shown someone holding a map that's been well marked with all the moves set in place but Spirit says:  "Best laid plans." I'm shown that map holder then getting frustrated as they encounter unexpected twists and turns and feeling more confused and lost than ever. Thinking your way forward isn't going to guarantee success at this time. Rather, Spirit shows someone blindfolded and feeling their way forward in the dark, but they ultimately get exactly where they need and want to go. Trust and let Spirit take care of the details. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. A practical and steadfast approach will serve you well this month. 

Be aware of denial and justifying things at this time. The fear of the unknown might have you dressing something up and convincing yourself it's better than it is. This is a month to accept hard truths, to be deeply honest with yourself, and to take ownership and dedicated action in your personal well-being. Spirit shows me someone standing naked before a mirror and fearlessly acknowledging themselves in all their glory - mind, body and soul. They say there is no room for blame or shame, only self-exploration, understanding, and healing. Things that have been stagnant are wanting to move forward and let go. I'm shown a child shaking a tree as the leaves fall and the branches are left bare. This month is a reminder that you can't have a new beginning without first having an ending. Do you have anything remaining that needs to be shaken off? Just like the empty branches on the tree, can you breathe into the remaining void? Can you trust in that empty space and in the process of release and renewal? There may be things you release and accept now that aren't fulfilled for another season or two. The sun is always within the shadows, the light always wanting to be extracted from the dark. Be willing and willful this September. Seek the light within, feed the light within, and watch it grow without.
