It is Deliah Hanlan's eleventh birthday, a magical age, and she is now ready to learn some very important things about what happened to her mom. But when fate steps in, Deliah finds herself grieving the sudden loss of her dad, and she is left with more questions than ever. In the meadow behind her home, she is befriended by three fairies who reveal her dad's birthday message to her. Deliah realizes that to get her answers she must follow the fairies into the enchanted realm of Faye, a world under threat from the Dark King. Once in Faye, Deliah sets out to find Finvarra, the Dark King's brother, who may be the only one that knows what happened to her mom. Deliah discovers she has an important destiny connected to the Faye realm and will learn not only the truth about her family, but about herself as well.

A Tale of Faye is a sweet fairytale with a lot of adventure, suspense and excitement. I read it with my granddaughters, ages 4 through 9, and they all enjoyed it. Because some of the main characters are brave male fairies I’m sure boys will enjoy this book as much as my little girls did. A Tale of Faye is highly entertaining to children and is well written. The fairies are given special characteristics and remain faithful to the canon established by Ms. Giles. The plot is very involved with adventure after adventure but the children I shared the book with were able to keep up with only a little explanation of words some of them they didn’t know. This is a new classic children’s story. Look out Harry Potter! There is another magical world about to be recognized and loved by many children. –Rated 5 Gold Crowns by Hazel! A Tale of Faye is heart touching. My favorite character was Deliah. I like Deliah because she was very nice throughout her journey. My favourite part was when Deliah's miracle came true. This book should be for kids 5 to 10. I really liked the illustrations; they were really funny and really great. Even though this book is only fantasy it was still really good. I think my favourite fantasy animal was Edwin the Unicorn. I think this book is great for people who enjoy fantasy, dreams coming true, and miracles happening. This story really touched my heart. This was a really good book; I will probably read this book again and again! The story is about dreams coming alive and I loved it! –Sophia (age 8)
There were quite a few thought-provoking passages throughout “A Tale of Faye.” Although a work of fiction, I think that there are great lessons to be learned. I think it will appeal not only to the younger audience but also to adults looking for a magical, inspirational read. –Rebecca's Reads
To say my girls loved your story is an understatement. We finished it over a week ago and they're still talking about it! I could stop after each chapter and talk about the big themes: intuition, synchronicity, manifesting, shielding, light and dark, faith, hope, trust...the list goes on with how richly loaded up A Tale of Faye is. It is an absolute sweet spot for their ages and stage (7 & 9) and I am so deeply grateful to have been able to use it as a gateway for some really beautiful conversations and learning.
