Q: Can you have more than one spiritual awakening?
A: This is a good question and I was curious to see what the elementals would have to say in response.
You only really have one spiritual awakening but you feel as if you are forever "re-awakening" within that new awareness. There is nowhere to go but forward and up. Even if you were to slip back into old patterns and behaviours you would be doing so from your awakened state, no longer ignorant of your choices and their effects. You are an energy being so you are always evolving. Sometimes the shifts and extremes in the energy and rhythm can cause you to feel like you are experiencing a second awakening, but in truth it's your evolution in continual action.
A spiritual awakening is a moment that can literally bring you to your knees in prayer and surrender. Think Elizabeth Gilbert waking up in the night and praying to God at the beginning of Eat, Pray, Love. It is often a breakdown that leads to a breakthrough. It can take the form of a divorce, death, health crisis, or other major life transition. It leads you back within to unearth and discover your true self. It is a challenging time that demands you be raw and vulnerable but it is so worth it. You'll never hear someone say, 'I wish I could go back to an un-awakened state.' At times it may seem tempting, but that's the thing about being awakened, you know better, and lose the luxury of lying to yourself. The rewards of self-connection, faith, and truth far outweigh denial and the difficulties of spiritual awakening and its journey.
You won't need to ask if you've had, or are having, a spiritual awakening, you will know. Your perspective and your life are forever altered for the better. Put simply, a spiritual awakening will have you living from within yourself, not outside of yourself. And this is the reason why so many things need to release and breakdown, in order to dissolve all that is blocking your true self from being in spiritual alignment with your physical world. The challenge creates change that will see you come out of it living a more authentic and fulfilling life.
Q: How do you know what your life purpose is?
A: Joy. If you are following your joy you will be on purpose. In following your heart and living authentically you will be provided for as you create your most abundant and fulfilling life.
Start by asking yourself, what am I passionate about? What interests me? This is usually an interest or strength you've had your whole life. For example, you always loved animals as a child, and enjoy signing petitions and being an activist for animals now. It's clear this is a natural passion and purpose that could be fulfilling for you. If you aren't sure, ask a friend or family member. They will be able to help highlight things that they notice always motivate and impassion you. The best part is that when you follow your joy you will naturally be of service. In this way, What brings me joy? And, How may I serve? Are essentially the same question. When you are following your joy you will be in alignment and the universe will provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy life while sharing and giving back. Focus on your feelings. Don't search for the human surface level notion of purpose found in the illusion of a title, label, or certification. But rather focus on how you want to feel. For example, you are compassionate and love helping others. Follow that feeling and start asking your guides what paths you could explore that would honour that feeling with joy for you. Don't manifest x job with x amount of money per year in x place. But instead, write out how you want your work to feel, and start connecting with that feeling daily. Do you want to be in an energizing, social environment working with groups and crowds? Do you want to be in a quiet environment working intimately with individuals? Do you want your work to feel creative? Intellectual?
Explore and experiment! Start trying new things and see what you like and don't like. Curiosity is key. Some things you may enjoy for a moment but not care to move forward with. And others you may enjoy and want to stick with and develop. But you never know unless you try. Give yourself six months to a year to commit to trying all new things of interest to you. The elementals say they would be hard pressed to believe you aren't on purpose by the end of that year.
Let your purpose evolve as you do. Never stop growing and evolving. Your central purpose may remain the same but it will take on many incarnations in your lifetime. Fearlessly honour the different stages and changes of your work, your look, your friends, your environment, your ever-evolving life.
