Maeve (May-ve) – Moon, Goddess
A heart opening, embrace of Goddess and feminine energy. A strong sisterly bond, holding space for others, nurturing and maternal energy. Work with the moon cycles to sync your body and connect with Mother Earth. The last time we had this card was January 2020, making it both the first and last card of this year. Interesting that we are in some way ending where we began. A significant cycle in your life is coming full circle. The first month of a new year is often met with an open heart and optimism, the promise of a fresh start and new beginnings. That energy quickly changed come March, but this card resurfacing for the last month of the year heralds a return to gentler times. It doesn't mean things are over; you're still strapped in on the COVID rollercoaster ride, but it does signal the start of a return to those feelings of hope and renewal. In many recent sessions I've done, Spirit has encouraged people to see from the perspective that, 'Any change is healing change that will ultimately better my life.' This year has been the year of the serenity prayer, of the mantra 'It is what it is', and of radical acceptance and adaptation. Find quiet time this month to lie down, let your mind wander, and let your heart speak to you. Don't do so looking for answers, just listen. Instead of hiding under the blanket, your inner child is now sitting up and hugging it to them. It will take more time for freedoms to find their way back but your inner child is showing they are now feeling safe enough to emerge in a new light. Be extra aware of not judging this month but of having compassion for yourself and others. Spirit says it's time to respect differences and heal from the collective drain you've been feeling. I'm shown bright flashes of light and that this month of 3 energy will be like a portal where you can super boost your healing, especially in terms of putting to bed old patterns. When communing with Spirit you will feel as though the volume has been turned up and the signal is clearer. Winter solstice is ready to work its magic with you. Mark your calendars for Monday, December 21st, as this will be a significant time you'll want to pay attention to. My favorite winter solstice ceremony is to turn off all the lights in the house, sit in candlelight ceremony, and when the ceremony is finished, to walk through and turn all the lights back on. Winter solstice recognizes the shortest day of the year, the embrace of the darkness that is the winter season, while also ultimately celebrating the return of the sun. You're also encouraged to pay attention to the full moon on December 29th. Enjoy another ceremony and exhale out 2020 and its plentiful shadows. Maeve is a character in my story that embodies the divine feminine energy, and after some resistance and rebellion, that energy is what we are continuing to birth globally but with a touch more grace afforded now. Physically, and energetically, you may experience symptoms/a focus on the heart, lower belly, hips, and pelvis. It's all connected to the rebirth energy. Laughter, a sense of humor, and gratitude will be your best medicine. Make it your mission to laugh until you cry and your belly hurts! This month of 3 lends itself to creative expression. Have fun letting your inner child create and play, watch your favorite childhood movie, indulge in comforting holiday rituals, and play games with family. Don't long for what was but appreciate and give thanks for the moments you miss, and then channel that love and passion into making new ones. This month reminds you it isn't about getting back to something, those old versions, routines, and ways of being needed to be let go. Channel your energy now into creating and discovering the new modalities from this present moment. You are so very loved and so powerful. And despite the chaos and overwhelm of this difficult and intense year, find time to remember and celebrate that life is inherently good. As Maeve reminds us, there is always the calm after the storm.

On the first of every month, I pull a card from my Faye Oracle Cards, which feature characters from my book, A Tale of Faye. I share what the card and character represent, as well as any additional insights my guides bring through so that you can be aware of the energy and make the most of the month. I also share any energy themes as I feel guided.
