What is hypnosis? It is a state of deep relaxation and focused concentration where your brain bypasses your conscious mind. This allows it to access the powerhouse that is your subconscious where the majority of your emotions and beliefs are stored. It is a mind-body medicine.
Why hypnosis? There are a lot of things you don't have control over in this life. Your mind isn't one of them.

Interesting Hypnosis Facts
- The history of hypnosis can be traced back to the ancient healing temples of Egypt, Greece and India, over 4,000 years ago.
- You are awake during hypnosis, not asleep. You can still hear, comprehend, and later remember. You can come out of hypnosis at anytime should there be an emergency or you feel the need to. You remain in control.
- Hypnosis is simply a state of trance which a personal naturally experiences daily. Common examples include driving long distances and the feeling of ‘zoning out’, the feeling of losing yourself while reading a good book, or the sensation of time flying by when you are enthralled in a good TV show or movie.
- Clinical hypnosis and stage hypnosis are two very different things. Don’t let the old definitions of stage hypnosis (people clucking like chickens) turn you off the benefits that clinical hypnosis has to offer.
- Hypnosis allows the brain to bypass the conscious part of the mind, allowing you to access the powerhouse that is your subconscious where the majority of your emotions and beliefs are stored.
- While under hypnosis some people may experience their feeling of relaxation as a feeling of being heavier in their body while others may feel lighter in their body. It is different for everyone.
- You can hypnotize yourself. Essentially, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. As with any healing, you are always self-healing. The practitioner is guiding and facilitating.
- Hypnosis isn't right for everyone. Not all people are able to enter a state of hypnosis fully enough for it to work well. In general, the more quickly and easily people reach a state of relaxation and calm during a session, the more likely it is that they will benefit from hypnosis.
The mind is like an iceberg, it floats with one-seventh of its bulk above water.
- Sigmund Freud
